The Person Behind Ray Barnette Productions

Music isn't just about recording sounds. It's about capturing an idea, a feeling, and a performance—and turning it into something that lasts.

Ray Barnette Productions brings together technical experience and creative collaboration to help artists develop their sound from the initial idea through the finished recording.

Ray's work is rooted in the studio—working with artists, shaping performances, refining arrangements, and making the technical decisions necessary to bring a project together.

My Story

25 Years in Nashville

For more than 25 years, I've built my career in Nashville as a music producer, songwriter, musician, and creative collaborator.

I've had the privilege of working alongside some of the most respected names in music, producing and touring with artists including Billy Dean, rockabilly legend Carl Perkins, and the iconic Dolly Parton. I've performed with numerous country artists on the Grand Ole Opry and written and produced music for national television, including NBC's Today Show, for which the production received an Emmy nomination.

Those experiences have taught me that great music begins with understanding the artist.

Whether you're an established recording artist or developing your sound for the first time, my approach is personal and collaborative. I take the time to understand your vision, your influences, and what makes you unique—and then bring the experience, musicianship, and production expertise necessary to turn that vision into a finished recording you can be proud of.

Every artist starts somewhere. My job is to help you discover where your music can go. I look forward to hearing your music and exploring what we can create together.
